I’ve had the privilege of working with Meryl on multiple projects. Every time we have collaborated, I have learned so much from her. She truly is an expert on thinking broadly about how we all play a role in increasing accessibility within the businesses and organizations where we work/volunteer. Meryl’s presence, simultaneously authoritative and supportive, during our live workshops inspired participants to actively engage. Her humorous delivery and compassionate understanding inspires others to feel like they, as individuals, can truly make a difference.
As a collaborator, I knew I could rely on Meryl to complete her tasks and keep me informed if any issues arose. She arrived at our meetings prepared and ready to engage with an insatiable desire to learn and grow. She gave me the honest feedback I requested as I moved along my own disability and accessibility awareness journey in a way that helped me feel safe to make mistakes. Her message of “progress over perfection” is one I have shared repeatedly in so many different settings.
